Hackney Teams Play Offs

he Academy of Sport (East London) brought together teams from local Hackney primary Schools to compete for a place in the first Cross Borough Tournament.

The Hackney play offs took part at Hackney Marshes.

Regardless of the continual wind and rain, and for the Monday teams, fire as well there was a good turn out at the South Marsh with no dampened spirits.

Leslie Fevrier, Head Coach at The Academy & Tottenham Scout said he was very impressed with high standard of play, sportsmanship & team spirit. He and fellow coaches, Corey Ellis & Marc Anderson definitely spotted some star foot players in the making and will be calling on various schools.

Highlights were some spectacular tackles, luckily no injuries were sustained and thrilling penalty shoot outs.

Thankfully the weather turned good for the final with some hot & sunny weather, the teams competing for a place were Shacklewell & St John the Baptist. Once again a terrific game, ending in a penalty shoot out, with St John the Baptist winning. A big thank you to both teams Managers & Coaching Staff for their very vocal support.

The final will be played at Middleton House, Tottenham Hotspur’s Training Ground, commencing 5.00pm, with all schools that took part invited along.
